Go go mini milestone! Our 10th comic! It’s a very small step but it’s something I’m proud of. The whole world just keeps growing in my mind everytime I write a new one and I’m sure that this story will see number 100 if I keep finding pockets of time to work on it.

Anywho, another character introduction and the first real look back at Boister and Daemonesque since before the addition of eyes to the comic. You’ll notice I’ve also added a fiery aura to our daemon friend to help him stand out from the backgrounds (since I still think he’s cooler without eyes).

It’s been a bit since my last update. I’ve been very busy with work and haven’t had free during a show to make these comics. Anyways, here’s a new one. It’s wordy but it explains alot of stuff that will make future comics less wordy. It also introduces a new character – if you’re clever, you can find his name and take a guess at what he’s schtick is.

On the art side, for the layout I decided to pick a random comic and page number, and then base this page off it it’s layout. Just to try something different. I like the way it came out. It’ll definitely help me make some cooler pages in the future.

Anyways, it’s 9:30 and work is done. Time to go home!

Pitmaster Grand Tournament Season 4 starts at Yule!

Caradoc Hold’s ‘Yule’ event is just around the corner and that means the Pitmaster Qualifiers kick into action once again!

The event will be taking place December 10, 2011 at Powdermills Park, Wadhams Lodge.

As usual, the winner of the main tournament that is held at the event will receive a singles invitation to the Pitmaster Grand Tournament. If no tournament is run, we will determine an alternative means of handing out the award.

Stay tuned for more details and check out the Pitmaster section for rules and details as the year progresses!

Finally, anyone who has ever earned a title through the tournament has received it in the ‘Group Affiliations’ section of their ORK page. Aside from the obvious ones, MEMBER indicates that you have helped run the Godstone Fair on multiple years and PITFIGHTER indicates that you have both qualified and competed in a Pitmaster or Gladiator Tournament.

Alright guys so I kicked up the resolution. Hopefully that makes things clearer on larger monitors now.

In this comic, we see the conclusion of Sable’s first encounter with HeeHaw. It’s funny, but I couldn’t find a good place for HeeHaw to introduce himself anywhere in this whole arc. In my script, I had them give their introductions after the “has joined the party” text but then I ran out of room! Ha!

I hope you guys are enjoying the comic and please send me any feedback you can! I am really excited to tell this story and your help with guarantee that it’ll be something everyone can enjoy!

In case anyone is wondering, I make one of these on days when I’ve got some free time but don’t have access to internet or I need to be able to quickly turn my attention elsewhere. Like during weddings or the ‘party’ half of corporate functions.

Anywho! Today we see the aftermath of Sable’s encounter from 006. He hasn’t given it out yet, but his name his HeeHaw. He has (had) a banjo. Also, Sable Lion has begun to realize the true power of the Shield as a weapon.

Hope everyone likes how the comic is turning out. I’m beginning to feel a little bit of pride – maybe it’s just because coming this far feels like turning flaming shit into just… non-flaming shit. Regardless, it’s an improvement! Yahar!

I think we’re finally starting to look like a comic and not like something I scrambled together from the bottom of my alpha-getti bowl. The addition of eyes helps ALOT and as you can probably tell, I’ve decided to drop the whole “speak-in-your-font” thing because really, some cool fonts just don’t read that well.

Anyways, this comic continues our storyline right where it left off! Sable Lion, Knight of the Realm, has just left town at the behest of a mysterious vision and methinks he has some regrets. He’s not left to his thoughts for long as he is soon forced to defend himself!

Oh… and Boister Black conquers the town and gets a big shiny gem! WoO!

The Font of Knowledge – 005

After some thought, I’ve decided to add some more features to the characters to make them easier to read. The most obvious addition was eyes and I’m sure you’ll all agree it adds to whole new world of expression for me to use. The next additions you’ve already seen a bit of and it’s mostly accessories or props that will further define the characters in the world.

I want to avoid mouths for the time being unless I find a really need a character to have one. I believe I’ve found a good point to move on from that will really help me tell the story and develop the characters. Anything more and it’s to cluttered, anything less and it’s back to square one.

So yea… let me know what you think! I’m well aware not alot of people are diggin’ the whole comic concept right now but I really enjoy the simplicity of it all and I hope that, in time, some of my critics will turn into fans.

So the story finally starts to pick up! Yay! This is essentially the rebooted version of 003 in my first attempt at this comic. Characters in this comic are Sir Sable Lion, Knight of the Realm; Daemonesque, the Ancient Terror; and the sorcerer Boister Black. The character in the vision as well as the poor victim will go unnamed for now.

One of our heroes is introduced. Sir Sable Lion, Knight of the Realm… also, he’s an S. Amazing! If you haven’t noticed already, the letters in the subtitle indicate all the characters that are in the panel. I’m so sneaky.

This is the reboot of #2. A better introduction for our bad guys. I really like the idea of a giant, daemonic letter D. There’s something about the visual that appeals to me. Also, Boister Black has a spiffy wand now!
